This is one of the walks in the book 'Exploring the Elizabeth Line' by Jeff Lock. It follows Part of the Jubilee River between Slough and Taplow. Then it crosses over to the River Thames and follows that up to Maidenhead. The final section took me via Taplow village before returning to the station.

The walk starts at Taplow station which I got to at 10.15 via Reading on the Elizabeth Line. Then following the route of my last walk along Marsh Lane.

The bridge over the Jubilee River and the impressive Marsh Lane weir.

I followed the river for a while, passing under the M4 and then past West Farm Town bridge before reaching a gate which marked the point where I left the Jubilee.

A short section of country paths before reaching Marsh Lane again which has to be walked along.

There seems confusion over the name of the road with extra signs suggesting it is called Richmond Path. Street View shows these signs added in 2009 but I could find nothing else abut Richmond Path. Here I turned off into the grounds of Dorney Lake.

Here a pleasant path takes me past the north end of the lake but nothing was visible of it through the fencing. This leads me down to the River Thames.

Northwards along the Thames towards Maidenhead. This impressive bridge takes the cycle lane across the river. The towpath is very pleasant along this stretch.

Then Bray lock which was very busy with a long line of boats waiting to go through and the lock master controlling it.

The rear of the boat queue. Then a little issue ahead where a tree had recently fallen across the towpath and a group of chaps working out what to do with it. They helped me duck under it.

More pleasant scenery with expensive houses across the river in Bray.

Approaching Maidenhead with the Brunel railway bridge then the bridge taking the A4 across the river.

Here the main Thames Path continues on the other bank but I leave it here, across a pleasant little park to reach the Berry Hill footbridge. This was another of the rotting bridges on the Jubilee river and it has been rebuilt, reopening in 2024. The instructions in the book had been written for when it was closed and I found them a little confusing with the changes for the now restored route.

View of Jubilee River from the bridge. Then a pleasant but up hill path to take me towards Taplow village.

Taplow Village Green and St Nicolas Church.

A country path to take me through to Boundary Road and then Station Road back to the station. Station Road had commuter cars parked all along it. A break for lunch in Reading before heading home after another pleasant walk.
