This series of walks for 2026 is from the book Beyond the End of the Line by Jeff Lock. Each walk starts at the terminus station of London's eight underground lines. This one starts at Elephant and Castle on the Bakerloo line and crosses central London to finish at Green Park. Afterwards I met up with some crossword bloggers from the Big Dave crossword site for their annual get together.
The walk started at Elephant and Castle underground station, the terminus of the Bakerloo line and two stops down from Waterloo. It then proceeds via back streets up through Lambeth which have nothing exciting to show. A large block of flats is then passed through, though I was not quite sure I was on the right path here.

Emerging into Archbishop's Park, one of London's less well known parks and in the shadow of the Waterloo railway line.
Out of the park and around St Thomas's hospital and the back of Waterloo station.
Across the Thames on Westminster Bridge, very busy with tourists.

Past Westminster Abbey and Methodist Central Hall.

St James's Park.
Buckingham Palace and then across the Mall.
Into Green Park and across to the other side where the walk finished at Green Park underground station.
After the walk I took the tube to Little Venice and the Bridge House where the crossword gathering was held.
A couple of hours pleasant company with fellow crossword fans, including lunch, made a nice end to this walk.
